| about |
| Do you feel like there's something
or someone missing in your life? Do you feel like
there must be something more to life than what you
have now? Do you wonder about God and eternity and
where you stand with your Creator? You need the
transforming power of a personal relationship with
Jesus Christ in your life. If you want to be right
with God and get the most out of this life and eternity,
think about what the Bible has to say about LIFE: |
| |
| l
- love |
The Bible says that God is love and that He loves
you. John 3:16 says it like this, "For God
so loved the world that he gave his one and only
Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish
but have eternal life." But not only does God
love you, He also wants a relationship with you.
John 17:3 says, "Now this is eternal life:
that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus
Christ, whom you have sent." You can have a
personal relationship with God.
But there is something that makes that impossible... |
| |
| i
- impossible |
| The Bible says that we are sinners and that our
sins have separated us from God. Our sin makes it
impossible for us to have a relationship with God.
Romans 3:23 says, "for all have sinned and
fall short of the glory of God," Have you ever
sinned, even in attitude or action? We all have.
Romans 6:23 says, "For the wages of sin is
death," Because of our sin, the Bible says
we deserve death, which is eternal separation from
God. However, in love, God provides us with a... |
| |
| f
- free gift |
| The Bible says that God provided us with Jesus,
the solution to our sin and the bridge back to God.
Ephesians 2:8-9 says, "For it is by grace you
have been saved, through faith-and this not from
yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works,
so that no one can boast." Romans 5:8 says,
"But God demonstrates his own love for us in
this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for
us." Jesus suffered on the cross to pay the
penalty for our sins. He died for us. Then three
days later he rose from the grave conquering death,
sin, and hell. His sacrifice demonstrates God's
great love for us as He took our deserved punishment
upon Himself. God now offers us... |

| e
- eternal life |
| The Bible says that since the price
has been paid for your sins, now you can experience
the gift of abundant and everlasting life with God.
If the gift is free, why doesn't everyone receive
it? Because to receive it, you must commit your
life to Jesus Christ as your Savior and as your
Lord. You have to put your faith in Him. Acts 16:31
says, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will
be saved..." Do you believe in Jesus? Do you
want to receive Him? Are you willing to commit your
life to Him and live for Him instead of for yourself?
Then you are ready to receive Christ. |
| |
| how
to receive Christ personally |
| 1. REALIZE that you are a sinner. |
| 2. RECOGNIZE that Jesus died on the cross for
you. |
| 3. REPENT of your sin. |
| 4. RECEIVE Jesus Christ into your life. |
| |
| If you would like to have this new LIFE in Christ,
pray this prayer. |
| |
"Dear Jesus. I know that
I am a sinner.
I believe that you died for my sins.
Right now, I turn from my sins and place my faith
in you.
I confess you as my personal Lord and Savior.
Thank you for saving me.
Amen." |
| |
| If you prayed that prayer sincerely from your
heart, CONGRATULATIONS! The Bible says in John 1:12,
"Yet to all who received him, to those who
believed in his name, he gave the right to become
children of God..." |
| |
| Your next steps should be reading the Bible, praying,
and getting involved in a church. We'd love to have
you join us at East Side and tell us about your
new LIFE in Christ. Find out more about attending
on our Welcome to ESBC
page. |
