It’s been awhile
Posted under ChurchHaven’t blogged in a little while…okay, a long while…but I’ve got a bunch of stuff I want to post about once I find some time. Here are a few reflections from ministry at East Side today:
- Dan really cranked “Awesome Is The Lord” up to a whole new level with some of his amp and guitar sounds on his effects board. Thanks Dan for helping to elevate what we’re doing in striving to create creative and engaging worship experiences.
- I’m really enjoying studying and teaching the Book of Judges on Sunday mornings…but perhaps even more so on Wednesday nights. I love digging into the Word verse by verse in preparation and getting some fascinating stuff out of it. Thanks to everyone who’s been coming out so far! Keep up the hard work…it’s worth it!
- We graduated another group from our FASTrack discipleship process today with their completion of Class 401. I’m proud of their hard work and effort. We also had a pretty big sized group take Class 201 today. Way to go everyone! (Our FASTrack system is the Purpose Driven Model of 4 foundational classes for spiritual growth: Membership 101, Maturity 201, Ministry 301, and Missions 401). I feel good about how we’re doing with these. Many churches quickly implement Class 101 and perhaps 201…but they’re slow to ever get around to offering 301 or even 401. To me…the content in those two classes is critical to the effective healthy church: every believer needs a ministry in the church (301) and a mission in the world (401).
Thanks all for now.
